Refund Policy

The well-being of the animals is our top priority when it comes to animal feedings and experiences. For this reason, we cannot always guarantee that these activities will take place. Additionally, these activities are weather-dependent, and a final decision is made each day starting at 9:00 a.m. Please note that tickets are non-refundable in the event of cancellation.

Giraffe feeding

Meet giraffes at eye level: you have this opportunity at the giraffe feeding in the Lewa Savanna. The feeding takes place under professional supervision and with the help of the volunteer team of Zoo Zurich (FTZ) at the time indicated on the ticket. In addition, we answer questions about the giraffes and other animals of the Lewa Savanna.

All proceeds from the giraffe feeding will be donated in full to our Lewa conservation project in Kenya.

Place: Depending on the weather either on the feeding platform near Ubele Pavilion or in front of Kifaru Lounge in the Giraffe House.

Children under 6 must be accompanied by an adult.

Porcupine feeding

The porcupines are the secret stars of the Kopje Rocks – and you can feed them at certain times. The feeding takes place under professional supervision and with the help of the volunteer team of Zoo Zurich (FTZ) at the time indicated on the ticket. In addition, we will answer questions about the porcupines and other animals of the Lewa Savanna.

All proceeds from the porcupine feeding will go to our Lewa conservation project in Kenya.

Place: At the Kopje rocks, at the porcupine exhibit.

Children under 6 must be accompanied by an adult.

Meerkat experience

Hardly anyone can escape the incomparable charm of the meerkats. It is all the more exciting to experience the animals up close! Once a day you can go inside with an animal keeper and watch the meerkats being fed. With a little patience, the animals usually become trusting very quickly. A unique experience!

Please note

• You cannot feed the animals yourself.

• It can also happen that meerkats aren't interested in feeding due to weather conditions or family dynamics. However, this rarely happens, and usually the animals are just as curious as they are hungry.

• Please be there at least 5 minutes before the start of the event, as the experience always starts on time.

• We recommend that you wear closed shoes (i.e. no sandals or flip-flops) during the meerkat experience.

Where: Meerkat outdoor enclosure at Lewa Savanna.
